We stocked this saree because it does the ordinary things well. georgette in blue – a pairing that photographs well and, more usefully, looks right in person.

It moves between everyday wear and occasions without needing much thought. Hand-finished detail differs a little from piece to piece; that is the nature of the work rather than a defect.

Check the care label before the first wash. Anything with metallic thread or heavy work wants dry-cleaning; plain cottons and rayons are fine hand-washed cold.
